Giovanni Arpino
Giovanni Arpino (1927-1987) lived his youth in Bra, and with his hometown he had a very strong connection. He deeply knew the town as well as the people who lived there. And still today it is possible to discover the places in which he stopped or the streets where he walked, the same he described in his works. The first stop of this cultural path is the railway station, point of departure of lot of people going to work every day in Turin; there are then the tanneries, representing for the author one of the main symbols of Bra, the streets of the town centre, such as “Via Cavour”, the pedestrian area where he used to meet his friends in famous cafés and restaurants, and “Vicolo Gallina”, the market square. Last but not least the itinerary stops at “La Zizzola”, the famous building on the highest point of the historical centre, that hosts a museum about the history of the town.
